Professional practice, risk, and ethics.
As HR professionals, we don't often have formal authority over others, yet are accountable for all of the people in the organization. Sometimes we have to say "no" to employers, managers, and employees.
In this session we'll explore various ways to understand risk in a workplace and how the HR professional's relationship with that risk can help them support constructive change.
We will talk about strategies HR professionals can use to say "no" or coach leaders to say "no" in line with professional ethics and values, while supporting the workplace. We will use tools to have effective commitment conversations and balance the duty to support both employer and employee interests.
Learning Objectives:
1. Identify areas of risk in your workplace and how they relate to HR professionals.
2. Learn and practice using structured commitment conversations model.
3. Increased comfort to support conversations where HR has to tell leadership "no"
